Twenty Years after the Medical Waste Tracking Act

The Northeast Biological Safety Association (NBSA) and the International Society (IStAATT) on Analytical Analysis of Treatment Technologies invites you to a jointly sponsored Biological Safety Symposium to be held at the Albany Medical Center, 43-47 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY on March 24, 2009 in room 700 of the Medical Education building (labeled building ME on the AMC campus building guide.

The Medical Waste Tracking Act was first published in the Federal Register on March 24, 1988. Twenty years later there are numerous commercially available technologies being used to treat a wide range of waste streams generated at an ever expanding number and diversity of facilities. What are these technologies, how should they be evaluated, and where can they be employed in an overall biosafety program? These and other issues will be addressed during the symposium.
